Alberto Giacometti
Born in 1901 in Borgonovo (Italy), deceased in 1966 in Coire (Switzerland)

In 1922, Giacometti moves to Paris where he studies in the studio of Antoine Bourdelle and discovers cubism, surrealism, African art and Greek statuary which inspire his first works.
His sculptures are in plaster – occasionally painted – and also cast in bronze, a technique that he used until the end of his life.
