He encountered Zadkine and Henri Laurens, whose influences on the young Coulentianos were crucial.
As a sculptor, he maintained a preference for working with heavy materials, particularly iron.
In his jewelry, while greatly influenced by Calder, he never forgot that his heritage was that of Ancient Greece.
