George Rickey
Born in 1907 in South Bend, Indiana (USA), deceased in 2002 in St.Paul, Minnesota (USA)

It is only in 1950 that George Rickey moved from painting to sculpture, by creating “kinetic sculpture”.
By combining the solid, cubic shapes of David Smith with the mobiles of Calder, he created an inventory of sculptural work, at times very heavy but susceptible of moving in the slightest whisper of wind.
