    Born in 1936 in Kyongnam (Korea)

    Artist, writer, philosopher, sculptor, he also studied poetry, painting, and calligraphy.
    The philosophers Nietzsche, Rilke, Heidegger, and Merleau-Ponty heavily influenced his art.
    He is the main theorist of the Mono-ha (“School of Things”, reminiscent of our Arte Povera movement) which focuses on the relationships of materials and perceptions rather than on expression or intervention.
    Lives between Japan and Paris.
