François MORELLET
François Morellet
Born in 1926 in Cholet (France), died in 2016 in Cholet (France)
Influenced by geometric abstraction which was his passion, in the early 1950s Morellet became a precursor of minimalism. Later, he became interested in light and used neon tubes in his work, and then directed his efforts towards kinetic art, purifying his pieces of any romantic language or intent.
Completely logical, his research finally reached out to work in applied arts and architecture.
