Barthélémy Toguo
Born in 1967 in Cameroon, lives and works in Paris and Bandjoun (Cameroon)
His work, since the early 1990s, has developed in several mediums: photography, video, performance, watercolor and sculpture.
With a great sense of humor, an air of provocation and a touch of poetry, Toguo deals with questions central to his identity, such as politics and migratory flows, both human and commercial.
This ring, Carpe Diem, is the first piece of jewelry by Toguo.
It is inspired by his monumental wood “stamp” sculptures and linked to the questions of identity and control often raised in his work.
