Erwin Wurm
Born in 1954 in Bruck an der Mur (Austria). Lives and works in Austria.
Austrian sculptor and performance artist, in the early 80s he was also a young professor of sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, concentrating on Conceptual and Minimal Art.
Since the late 80s, he has developed an ongoing series of ‘one minute sculptures’ in which he poses in unexpected relationships with everyday objects that are close at hand, prompting the viewer to question the definition of sculpture. He often uses some humorous form of expression.
The images are only captured in photos or on film.
Since 2013, he has developed precious jewelry (ring, brooch and necklace) in white gold and diamonds based on the idea of the pickle for the Elisabetta Cipriani Gallery in London.
