Kenny Scharf
Born in 1958 in Hollywood, California (USA)
Scharf belongs to a group of American artists who, in the beginning of the 1980s create the lien between contemporary art and graffiti, much like Basquiat or Haring.
Using the imagery of popular culture (notably televisual) he develops a gay and colorful body of work, reminiscent of the preoccupations of Free figure painting.
