Born in 1933 in Baltimore (USA), deceased in 1993 in New York (USA)

Well known for his gargantuan paintings of flowers. Very close up, lilies and iris completely cover the canvas.
“I attempted to treat the subject of the flower in a monumental way, in order to surpass the natural beauty”.
He was the artist officially chosen to illustrate the Apollo 9 and Apollo 13.
